About Solar Cost

Solar Cost was started to help customers easily get quotes for solar from reputable companies as it is well known there are many shady operators out there. Founded by Mark Asciak in early 2010, Solar Cost spent the first 9 months getting a website in place that entails a great lead management system to make the purchasing and management of leads as easy a possible for installers. We didn’t want to just send out a heap of emails as others do because from experience, it’s messy, unorganised and quite annoying having to sift through email after email.

Another reason we started this site is for installers, more-so the local guys, who for the most part, are at the mercy of larger companies with the buying power to import stock from China and Germany. These larger companies also have a much bigger marketing spend which puts many of the smaller operators out of the picture. We felt that if we created a level playing field as far as obtaining leads goes, the smaller operators would have a bit more baragining power.

As our founder is an expert of 6 years in internet marketing, specialising in Search Engine Optimisation, we feel our site brings a perfect solution to solar companies of all sizes but in particular, those that can’t afford to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars getting a website to the top of Google, Bing, and Yahoo or can’t afford the expensive Search Engine Marketing programs such as Google’s AdWords.

Using our service means you not only get access to our lead management system, but you are also leveraging off our marketing expertise which means you can focus on your core business and let us take care of generating leads for you. While our system is still, and always will be, being improved upon, it already offers an easy to use interface that allows you to use it much like you would an internal CRM. The end goal for our system is to give installers all the options they need to effectively manage leads they purchase through us. On that note, if you have any suggestions we would love to hear from you, just contact Matt via his email above and we’ll see what we can do.

Never Pay Another Power Bill

Who Else Would Like To Never Pay Another Power Bill?

So how could you never pay another power bill? Simple... Look at your current daily usage of power per kilo watt hour. Most families tend to be between 15-18 kw hours per day. Then you need to select a system that will produce enough energy to cover your current usage. For example most average households will need to purchase a 3 kw system in order to be in the ball park of never paying for an energy bill again. Obviously purchasing a 3kw system requires more of an upfront investment but if the cost of energy keeps increasing it may be well worth it. learn more

Learn About Solar Panels

How do solar panels work

Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it in to electricity by way of the photoelectric effect, somewhat similar to how the leaves of trees and plants convert sunlight in to energy via photosynthesis. Since the late 19th century photovoltaic (PV) solar cells have come a long way enabling them to generate more than enough electricity to power homes and businesses. Naturally the size of the system installed will determine whether or not it produces enough power to cover all the electricity requirements of any home or business. learn more
